The Toco Times is a news magazine for the Toco region, and the Toco diaspora whether home or abroad, to provide us with local community news and stories. We offer Toco-centric information for sustainable social and economic development in our community, focusing on the villages and micro-villages between Matura to Matelot in the Toco region including the villages of Matura, Balandra, Rampanalgas, Salybia, Cumana, Toco, Mission, L’anse Noire, Sans Souci, Grand Riviere, and Matelot.
Launched in 2020 in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Toco Times is for Toco, by Toco. All of our writers and reporters are from the Toco region or the Toco diaspora, reporting and developing stories on community, art, culture, business, history, local politics, and lifestyle of Toco. In our LOCAL VOICES section, we give local residents a blogging platform to share their personal or professional insight on whatever topic or issues they choose.
It is important for the Toco region to have a platform where our issues can be addressed, where we can be seen and heard from as valuable members of society, and where we can receive useful information specific to our needs as a community. Subscribers to The Toco Times newsletter receive the latest news updates emailed to them weekly.
From the community sports day to new community classes or the opening of a new shop or resort, we are here for the community. We’re a growing publication, don’t be afraid to reach out and let us know what you
